What is MeRT?

Magnetic e-Resonance Therapy (MeRT) is a highly personalized approach to Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) that uses advanced diagnostics to map and treat the brain with precision. This non-invasive, painless, and drug-free therapy supports a wide range of neurological and mental health conditions by identifying where brainwave activity is disrupted — and gently helping restore healthy patterns.

Every MeRT protocol begins with a quantitative EEG (qEEG). This diagnostic tool shows us exactly how the brain is functioning, revealing patterns linked to learning or behavioral challenges, emotional dysregulation, brain injury, and more. The qEEG acts as a neurological roadmap, allowing us to tailor each patient’s treatment to their unique brain signature.

MeRT uses FDA-cleared TMS technology to deliver magnetic pulses that stimulate targeted areas of the brain. By supporting optimal communication between neural networks, MeRT has shown meaningful results for conditions including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and concussion, depression, anxiety, and sleep-related disorders.

At Brain Treatment Center NoVA, MeRT offers a precise, individualized path toward improved cognitive function, emotional balance, and overall neurological health—without medication or invasive procedures.

Exceptional Care Built on Expertise and Proven Results

At Brain Treatment Center Ashburn, we have intentionally partnered with the most experienced clinicians, providers, and support staff to ensure every patient receives exceptional care and the highest standard of MeRT treatment. Our team maintains a long-standing relationship with the original Brain Treatment Center and the clinical leaders at Wave Neuro, allowing us to bring the most current, research-informed protocols directly to our patients. Our hope is that every individual who walks through our doors experiences the same life-changing results we have seen in our own families and community.

Advanced Diagnostics That Guide Personalized Care

Every MeRT treatment plan begins with a comprehensive quantitative EEG or qEEG. This non-invasive brain map allows us to see specific patterns of dysfunction that may contribute to learning challenges, behavioral concerns, emotional dysregulation, sleep issues, traumatic brain injury, or other neurological conditions. The qEEG provides a detailed blueprint of the brain’s communication networks, allowing our clinicians to create a treatment plan tailored to each patient’s unique neural signatures.

Safe, Non-Invasive Technology with FDA-Cleared Equipment

MeRT uses FDA-cleared TMS equipment to deliver gentle magnetic stimulation to precisely targeted areas of the brain. This process helps support better neural connectivity and more balanced brainwave activity. Treatment is non-invasive, drug-free, and well-tolerated by both children and adults.

Targeted rTMS Therapy for Mood, Cognitive, and Neurological Recovery

Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) is a safe, non-invasive, FDA-approved treatment that uses gentle magnetic pulses to stimulate underactive areas of the brain involved in mood regulation, cognition, and emotional balance. At Brain Treatment Center NoVA, we tailor each protocol based on a comprehensive clinical assessment to support healthier neural communication and restore optimal brain function.

rTMS is well-supported for depression, PTSD, anxiety, and post-concussive symptoms, offering an effective option for individuals who prefer to avoid medication or who have not found relief with traditional therapies. Many patients report meaningful improvements, including enhanced mood, reduced anxiety, sharper focus, better sleep, increased motivation, and greater day-to-day resilience.

If you’re seeking a science-driven, drug-free approach to long-term mental wellness, rTMS provides a proven path toward stability, clarity, and recovery.

Meaningful Improvements in Daily Life

While every patient’s experience is unique, many individuals report significant functional improvements during and after a course of MeRT. These often include:

• More restorative and longer sleep

• Reduced stress responses

• Reduction in chronic pain

• Improved concentration and mental focus

• Enhanced mood stability

• Increased attention span

• Greater sociability and communication

• Higher motivation and engagement

• Clearer thinking and faster cognitive processing

• Decreased cravings or compulsive behaviors

• Stronger emotional regulation

• Improved adaptability and resilience

• Increased self-confidence and overall well-being

These changes reflect the core purpose of MeRT: supporting the brain’s ability to self-regulate, communicate efficiently, and function more effectively in everyday life.
