Non-Invasive Chronic Pain Treatment Now Available in Ashburn and Alexandria, Virginia

At Brain Treatment Center NoVA, we believe that chronic pain deserves more than temporary symptom management. Pain affects sleep, mood, relationships, performance, and quality of life. For many individuals, medications, injections, and surgery may not provide the long-term relief they are seeking.

We are excited to announce the launch of our new Pain & Recovery Program, featuring MagVenture Magnetic Peripheral Nerve Stimulation (mPNS) Therapy, now available in both our Ashburn and Alexandria locations.

The program is led by Dr. Joshua Richter, a board-certified Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) physician, former Army Ranger and Special Operations veteran, with advanced training in functional medicine, neuromodulation, TMS, and MeRT.

What Is mPNS Therapy?

Magnetic Peripheral Nerve Stimulation (mPNS) is a non-invasive treatment that uses targeted magnetic pulses to stimulate peripheral nerves associated with chronic pain.

Unlike surgery, injections, or medication-based pain management approaches, mPNS therapy is performed in an outpatient setting and requires no anesthesia, no recovery time, and no medications.

The goal is to support healthier nerve function and help reduce the impact of chronic pain on daily life.

Who May Benefit?

The MagVenture Pain Program may be appropriate for adults experiencing:

  • Chronic pain

  • Post-traumatic pain

  • Post-surgical pain

  • Musculoskeletal pain

  • Persistent pain following injury

  • Pain that has not responded to traditional treatment approaches

Every patient receives an individualized provider assessment before treatment recommendations are made.

Why Chronic Pain Requires a Different Approach

Many people living with chronic pain have been told to simply manage their symptoms.

Unfortunately, pain often becomes much more than a physical sensation.

Over time, chronic pain can affect:

  • Sleep quality

  • Energy levels

  • Physical performance

  • Mental health

  • Stress resilience

  • Relationships

  • Overall quality of life

At Brain Treatment Center NoVA, we take a comprehensive approach that considers both the physical and functional impact of pain.

A Non-Pharmaceutical Option for Pain Relief

Many patients are seeking alternatives to long-term medication use.

The MagVenture Pain Program was added to provide a non-pharmaceutical, non-invasive option that can be integrated into a broader recovery plan when appropriate.

Our goal is simple:

Help patients improve function, reduce pain-related limitations, and return to the activities that matter most.
